HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL IN BRIEF

 

In response to public demand for a qualitative English medium School, this School was founded at Avadi in the year 1970 by late Major M.K. Hussain. Subsequently, on public request, a branch of the same was started at Ambattur in 1973. The School was then known as Model School and even to this day some call it by that name. During these years the School has made long strides and achieved a high standards both in the field of academics and extra curricular activities.

 

In March 1981, the School was renamed after the founder as Hussain Memorial Kinder Cottage Model School.



In June 1987, the School was recognized by the Govt. of Tamilnadu and in June 1997 the School was upgraded to a Higher Secondary School and was renamed as Hussain Memorial Matriculation Higher Secondary School.

 

In the year 2006 the School acquired land and established a sports complex with a view to encourage games and sports.

The aim of the School is to impart quality education and mould the overall personality of the child by developing his / her creative skills / talents, character and interests by providing personal attention.
